Last week, couple of films released with two newcomers with filmy background. One was Abbas Tyrewala directed ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ with Imran Khan, nephew of Aamir Khan was debuting. The point is movie is produced by Mamujaan ‘Aamir Khan’. Another was Harry Baweja, Producer & Director launching his son Harman Baweja with ‘Love Story 2050’. There was intense competition between the two films during the marketing. Aamir Khan was promoting his film in a big way and even Harry Baweja was leavig no stone unturned for his son. Whenever two big film releases in same week, mostly one film wins the race in box office. Same happened this time with ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ becoming hit and ‘Love Story 2050’ doing badly at box office.
First lets discuss why ‘Love Story 2050’ failed? The major reason was the story only focussed on character of Hero Harman Baweja and Heroine Priyanka Chopra. There were no good supporting characters in the movie. Boman Irani did not have enough substance in his character. Dalip Tahil and Archana Puran Singh did not have enough scenes. Robots can’t take place of human emotions. The story did not have any logic. The film missed on comedy scenes. Any love story strength is its music. It had an average music. Harry Baweja could have added couple of strong supporting characters in the movie. Priyanka Chopra looked pathetic with red hair in the second half of the movie. Harman Baweja seems to have lot of influence of Hrithik Roshon. He seems to be aping Hrithik. Actors need to be original and should have their own style. You can notice Harman in romantic or sad scene, its look duplicate of Hrithik is doing a scene. If Harman Baweja wants to succeed, he has to stop copying Hrithik otherwise comparision will always be there. These are the reasons, why ‘Love Story 2050’ couldn’t connect with masses.
‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ succeeded because of good script and screenplay. The full credit goes to director Abbas Tyrewala for this. The film not only focussed on Hero Imran Khan and Heroine Genelia D’Souza. It had lot of supporting characters, who equally contributed to the movie. Prateik Babbar was the surprise performance and he stood out on his own in the crowd. Late Smita Patil will be proud of her son’s debut performance. To be honest, he impressed more then Imran Khan as an actor. Naseerudin Shah was the star of the show. His cameo was very entertaining. Paresh Rawal was also very good as always. Ratna Pathak Shah as Imran’s mother in the film was another good performer. Arbaz Khan and Sohail Khan were the only sore points in the movie. They were quite irritating in such a entertaining movie. The Gang of friends of Imran and Genelia were also really good. The scene where rotlu sings ‘Tu Hi Re’ was too good. Music was really nice. I have watched Genelia in a tamil movie ‘Santhosh Subramaniam’. She is an excellent actress and hasn’t been used well in bollywood. She is the lifeline of the film and adds lot of colour to the movie. Manjari Phadnis did not have enough scope. Imran Khan is the new star Bollywood needed. We don’t have much younger actors playing romantic roles other then Shahid Kapur. One more khan, who will do well in future in bollywood. You can feel the pulse of the movie as an audience. Youth will go for ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ then ‘Love Story 2050’.

Thats a good comparison and a good review too!
I agree that jaane tu... is a better movie than love story 2050. jane tu ya jane na ... was a beautiful and successful romantic comedy in the recent past, and Mr Baweja made a big mistake by releasing his film love story 2050and debuting his son opposite to a producer who is simply the best in whatever he does(acting, producing, directing, commenting, etc) but we should not forget to give credit to the director of the film. he has done a great job.the only one thing which i feel could have been much better was the film music and the lyrics...rest is ok
